Breakfast was aside there to do. Also it's just set time.
Santa Cruz was surf central California long before the Beach Boys sang about it. The Surfing Museum in the Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse tells stories of those who have braved some of the world’s best waves.
Overlooking the ocean rollers are the Coconut Grove Ballroom and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk - the oldest amusement park in the state of CA, and the last original one on the West Coast. Its historic carousel, rollercoasters and rides are a colourful backdrop to Cowell’s Beach, best viewed from the Sky Glider cable cars.
Jutting into Monterey Bay is the wharf where sea lions bask and pelicans decide on their next meal. Seafood restaurants are abundant here and the bars provide lively nightlife. Pacific Avenue is the main shopping area and one street away is the Museum of Art & History.
Unsurprisingly for a surfer hotspot, the city has a liberal outlook and is known for political activism - a far cry from the era when the Santa Cruz Mission was established. The mission is now a state park alongside Natural Bridges Beach and the Big Basin Redwoods in forested hills behind the city, home to the gravity-defying Mystery Spot.
Booking.com’s Santa Cruz accommodation includes pet-friendly motels, hotels with hot tubs and cheap inns near UCSC.

Location was very central to all the places we went.
Location was very central to all the places we went. The hotel and room was decorated very nicely and it was very clean. The breakfast had many options but I would have appreciated availabllity of non dairy milk.
Staff was not welcoming and nor did they talk to us unless spoken to. The mirror in the bathroom stated the room would be cleaned every other day. ON the third day, I asked when our room would be cleaned, the desk person thought it might be cleaned the next day. On the fifth day of our stay, I had to request that the sheets be changed and the wastebaskets emptied.

Santa Cruz is great any time of the year.
Santa Cruz is great any time of the year. The Christmas lighted train was a a big surprise and fun to watch each evening. A lovely walk above the ocean to watch the sun sets over the crashing waves near the Surfer Museum (formerly a light house. A wonderful Shakespeare theatre company (now doing A Christmas Carol i town) that does more than Shakespeare in the summer in a beautiful outdoor setting.
Lots to do for families, couples, sports, just try it out!

We loved the fact, that the motel was located next to the pier or beach walk of Santa Cruz. However we were unlucky, because it was closed on the night that we arrived (we only spent one night there). The check-in staff, was friendly, no issues. The parking spots, free parking, were super convenient, and the security shut our trunk that we left open (thanks for that!). The hallways, that leads to the rooms, look quite old and shabby, they could need some improvement. The rooms were alright, motel style, nothing fancy, but clean.
this place was phenomenal for my work trip to Santa Cruz. The location was great, I didn't have any trouble finding parking on the street (in November) and it was an incredibly comfortable place to be based. the kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans, knives, etc... and even had a dishwasher! It also had a very large sink, which was lovely.
Setting in a traditional house only footsteps away from the center of Santa Cruz. Kind lady at the reception upgraded our room at no extra charge. Free private parking.
If you’re coming to see Santa Cruz this is the perfect place. Fresh, clean, safe and fun. Perfect for families or a couple. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
